Poverty Breeds COVID-19 Deaths: The Facility Divide in Counties

We hoped to achieve awareness on the lack of facilities in impoverished areas from a variety of counties in California. We chose our subtopic through seeing which data was easy to work with and a topic that piqued our interest. We used the chhs data source to gather data on covid deaths and the number of nursing facilities to show the disparity and lack of access to healthcare in certain low income areas.

We used R studio and Canva to create our brochure and graphs. We used data from the census bureau for poverty and chhs for the number of nursing facilities and covid deaths.
