Speaking Opportunity

The Civic Hacker Summit (https://civichackersummit.com/) is an annual, global, virtual event where we dive into the positive outcomes that can result from the intersection of data, technology, and civic life. “Civic Hackers” of varied backgrounds, from social sector professionals, to volunteer data scientists, and creative technologists, come to together to celebrate successes and learn from each other’s experiences.

Topics discussed cover issues ranging from using data to illuminate and combat injustice to exploring civic technology solutions for increased access to government services.  It’s a free virtual summit primarily focused on story and strategy sharing around using data and technology for civic and social impact.

As a speaker, your participation would just involve pre-recording an interview (doing a talk or presentation is totally optional, but welcomed) with me any time before October 26th. The interview will be pre-recorded at your convenience using Zoom, so we can include any slides or other visual aids you would like to present.

I hope it will work to schedule an hour for the video call, and the goal is to record a 20-30 minute conversation. At the end of the interview, I will of course ask if there are projects or events you’d like to bring awareness to, so you’ll have an opportunity to plug whatever you’d like! The summit will “air” November 5-6.

Contribute your experience, tools, and perspective to this global conversation about how we can all use data and technology to make an impact in our communities. We can’t wait to learn from you!
