WIC and Preterm Births

We chose this topic to look at the correlation between wic utilization and preterm births by county in California. We hoped to see a trend that higher wic utilization correlated with low preterm births in California. In other words, more funding for wic services should potentially help reduce premature birth rates by supporting proper nutrition for women during pregnancy.
We wanted to use open- source public health data to provide data-backed support for this important public health program.
